About 1plusX
Learn all about 1plusX – who we are, who we were, and who we will be.
Our Story
What’s in a name? For 1plusX, the answer is everything.
1 is the first action; the place where things begin. For us, this means the data we ingest from our clients.
Plus is the special ingredient; the magic that happens once your data and our AI intelligence come together.
X is for the valuable insights and enhancement; get clarity from the chaos when you decide to work with us.
How it all began...
While working in Google’s then-tiny Zurich office in the summer of 2007, Jürgen and Thomas (who both shared a passion for this crazy thing called AI) met and became friends. Their career moves put them on two different paths – Jürgen to Swisscom in R&D and Thomas to ETH in academia. But their moves were beneficial. Jürgen quickly realized that European companies had access to vast amounts of data but weren't using them to their full potential. Meanwhile, Thomas was consolidating his position as a recognized expert on AI research and science.
Spurred on and supported by Stephanie and Joachim Schoss, JĂĽrgen and Thomas started 1plusX. Their mission was simple: to help companies extract useful insights and achieve better marketing results through artificial intelligence. In short, they wanted to help companies bring together data from all digital touchpoints, enrich it with value-adding predictions and use it for digital marketing. All on a fast, sustainable and large scale.
Early pitches exceeded all expectations. Media companies wanted better data tech for audience building, at a time when the industry was just starting to talk about what is now the current mantra: to match the right message to the right user, through the right channel, at the right time.
Thus, in 2014, 1plusX was officially born.
The next step came naturally...
Now, we're entering a new phase. As the third-party cookie is deprecating and customers demand more privacy and user experience, we have to rethink digital advertising. That's why in March 2022, we agreed to be acquired by TripleLift, an advertising technology company that created native advertising. Today, their marketplace serves leading brands and companies, with over 1 trillion ad transactions executed every month.
By joining forces, we aim to unleash the true potential of first-party data, give publishers a way to monetize their content more effectively, and for advertisers to reach their users better. This acquisition is part of our "Media + Data" approach, which aims to enrich every ad for everyone involved.
Together, we plan to merge and scale our technology to solve current and new industry challenges. As a result, we'll bring new demand solutions to the market and actionable first-party data solutions to the programmatic world.
After all, we're better together.
We enable every digital interaction
to be personalized through the power of data

Our Founding Team
JĂśRGEN GALLER CEO & Co-Founder
JĂĽrgen has a passion for entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and artificial intelligence, and brought all those obsessions together when he co-founded 1plusX.
His background is blue-chip digital business management; roles he has rocked in both Europe and Japan. A long stint at Google saw him heading up the development of Google Search, Chrome, and YouTube’s EMEA products. After that, he was the strategy mastermind at Swisscom.
Jürgen’s superpower is getting digital products off the ground. But he couldn’t live without his kids, his collection of Japanese knives, or his Vespa.
